In the summer of 2008 we had the chance to do something we’d been dreaming of for years – open our own restaurant. This space, located in the heart of Fenton’s industrial and business center, was the perfect spot for a bakery/café. We renovated the space to make it warm, bright, and inviting, and opened our doors right around Christmas of 2008. Named after our first son, Magnus, Maggie’s Lunchbox was born! We serve breakfast 6 am-11am and lunch until 3pm, Monday thru Friday.
Ben, a professionally trained pastry chef with 4-star hotel experience, focuses on the baked goods. All the breads, pastries, cupcakes, pies, etc, are made right here in our kitchen by Ben every day. He also does special- order cakes and desserts for parties, weddings, meetings, and anything else you can imagine. Special occasion hand crafted chocolates are one of Ben’s secret weapons – check in around a major holiday to try them for yourself, or call anytime to special order some for an event.
Ben and Kari run the kitchen and front of house. Every item you see on the menu is made fresh here – down to hand prepping soups and roasting turkey and beef for sandwiches. The daily Blue Plate special is one of our signature items and can be as varied as hand-tossed pizzas, fried chicken, or bbq ribs.
